"Hello, I am Mayor Danny Holmes and welcome to Baxter, Tennessee’s website. We are located in beautiful western Putnam County with Interstate 40, US Highway 70 and State Highway 56 running through our city limits. The Nashville and Eastern Railroad runs through our Central Business District and Industrial District.  There are three Putnam County Schools in Baxter; Baxter Elementary School, Cornerstone Middle School, and Upperman High School.
